Applies to: ViewSonic Manager; enrolled devices

You add a device to ViewSonic Manager by enrolling it through the web console, using either a 6-digit PIN, the device's serial number, a QR code scanned with the myViewBoard Companion app, or a batch xlsx import for multiple devices at once. Once enrollment finishes, the device appears in your Device list and you can start sending commands to it.

Before you begin

You need an Entity account and Manager admin access to add devices. The target device must be powered on, connected to the network, and have the Manager app installed (Manager is preloaded on supported ViewBoard devices).

Ways to add a device

Manager offers a few enrollment methods depending on your situation:

  • 6-digit PIN — read a PIN from the device's Manager app and enter it in the web console. Best for adding one device at a time when you are near the device.

  • Serial number — enter the device's serial number if the Manager app or PIN is not available.

  • QR code via Companion app — scan a QR code shown by the device using the myViewBoard Companion app on your phone, signed in as an Entity Admin.

  • Batch file import — download Manager's xlsx template, fill in PINs and device details for multiple devices, and import the file to add them all at once.

Additional notes

Some additional points that may be useful:

  • You can optionally name the device and assign it to a group during enrollment. If you leave the name blank, Manager uses the model number.

  • If a device does not show a PIN, it may already be enrolled to another Manager console and will need to be un-enrolled first.

  • Removing a device from the Device list stops Manager from being able to send it commands, but does not affect the device itself.

Need more help

If a device will not enroll, confirm it is online and that the Manager app is up to date, then contact ViewSonic Support with the device model, serial number, and a description of where the enrollment process failed.
