Applies to: ViewSonic Manager device enrollment

A replacement display is registered the same way as any new device: enroll it in ViewSonic Manager using a PIN, serial number, QR code, or batch import. There is no separate "replace" workflow. If the old device is still listed in your Device list, remove it so you do not end up managing a display that is no longer in use.

Before you begin

You need Manager admin access. The replacement device must be powered on, connected to the network, and have the Manager app installed before you can enroll it.

Register the replacement display

Enroll the new display using whichever method is most convenient:

  1. On the replacement device, launch the Manager app to get a 6-digit PIN or QR code, or locate its serial number.

  2. In the Manager web console, open the Add Device screen and select the matching tab (Pin or Serial Number).

  3. Enter the PIN or serial number, optionally name the device, and optionally assign it to the same group the old display was in.

  4. Click OK and confirm the new device appears in the Device list.

Remove the old device from the list

If the retired display is still showing in Manager, remove it so it does not remain in reports, groups, or action targets:

  1. Click the Menu to open the side panel, then click Devices, then the All Devices tab.

  2. Select the checkbox for the old device (use search to locate it if needed).

  3. Click the Delete icon on the toolbar.

  4. Confirm the removal when prompted. The device disappears from the Device list.

Additional notes

Some additional points that may be useful:

  • Removing a device from Manager only stops Manager from managing it — it does not factory reset or otherwise change the physical device.

  • If you want the replacement device to inherit the same group membership, jobs, or profiles as the old one, assign those separately after enrollment; they do not transfer automatically.

  • If the old device still shows a PIN screen from a previous enrollment attempt, it may need to be un-enrolled from its prior Manager console before you can add it elsewhere.

Need more help

If the replacement device will not enroll, or you are unsure whether to remove the old device first, contact ViewSonic Support with both the old and new device serial numbers and a description of the replacement scenario.
