Applies to: myViewBoard 3.0
myViewBoard 3.0 is installed separately and does not overwrite or replace your existing 2.0 installation, so both versions can coexist on the same Windows device while you transition. Your account, settings, and users carry over automatically, and the update remains free.
OLF files remain supported
All existing .OLF lesson files, including ones created in 2.0, remain fully supported in 3.0. If both versions are installed, opening an .olf file prompts you to choose which version to use, with an option to set a default.
Fonts and resolution can shift
Because myViewBoard 3.0 was rebuilt from the ground up, some fonts may be replaced due to naming and architecture differences. .olf files created on a laptop may appear misaligned on an IFP due to resolution differences, so match resolution and aspect ratio (for example, 1920×1080 on a laptop vs. 3840×2160 on a 65"+ IFP).
Avoid running both versions at the same time
Avoid logging into both versions at the same time to prevent sync conflicts.
Telling the versions apart
On Windows, the two versions are visually distinguished by icon. 3.0 keeps the current logo, and 2.0 switches to a yellow cloud icon.
Hardware support determines upgrade readiness
Whether your ViewBoard/IFP hardware supports the upgrade depends on the model, as detailed in IFP compatibility. If your device isn't ready to update, it can remain on the legacy version via the update popup window.
