PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles support video output up to 120 Hz. Follow the instructions below to configure 120 Hz output.


<PlayStation 5>


1. Open "Settings".



2. Select "Screen and Video".


3. Select "Enable 120 Hz Output" under "Video Output".


4. Select "Automatic" in the pop-up menu.


5. Return to "Settings" and select "Saved Data and Game/App Settings". 


6. Select "Performance Mode or Resolution Mode" under "Game Presets".


7. Select "Performance Mode" in the pop-up menu.


8. Close "Settings" to complete.



<Xbox Series X/S>


1. Open "Settings".


2. Select "TV & Display Options" under "General".


3. Select "120 Hz" in the "Refresh rate" option under "Display".


4. Select "YES" when prompted with "Keep this refresh rate?".


5. Close "Settings" to complete.



<120 Hz Mode Compatibilty List> (as of 2025/June/13)


Note: Displays released after April 2024 that support 1080p or 1440p resolution at a 120 Hz refresh rate are likely to be compatible with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 (NS2). However, compatibility may vary depending on other factors, such as HDMI cable version and display processing capabilities.
