Most fan noise issues are related to settings or ventilation. Check the High Altitude Mode and ensure the vents are clear before considering repair.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Verify Device Specs:

    • If you own a fanless portable model and hear strange noises, contact support immediately as there are no moving parts intended to make sound.

  2. Check "High Altitude Mode":

    • Go to [Menu] > [System Settings].

    • When enabled, the fan runs at max RPM to handle thin air, causing louder noise. This is normal operation.

  3. Environment & Ventilation:

    • Maintain at least 50 cm of clearance around all vents.

    • Inspect for dust buildup. Use a soft brush for cleaning. Avoid using canned compressed air directly into the vents, as it may push dust into the optical engine.

  4. Identify Mechanical Failure:

    • If you hear grinding or rattling, the fan bearing may be failing. Power off the unit immediately. Do NOT shake the projector, as it may damage the lamp or internal alignment.

Note: This does not apply to fanless portable LED models.
